Persichetti, Vincent
(6 June 1915, Philadelphia – 14 August 1987, Philadelphia)
   Known chiefly for his abstract instrumental concert works, he also compiled and composed Hymns and Responses {}for the Church Year (Vol. I, 1955; Vol. II, 1987) with texts both modern and traditional, a Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis (1940), one mass (1960), a Te Deum (1963), a Stabat mater (1963), and a few settings of other Biblical texts.
